Initial rough ideation sketches
The client wanted to incorporate a hawthorn tree into the design, because of their cultural significance to Irish mythology. So I started sketching Hawthorn trees and branches. The client had also already chosen the font she wanted used, so that had to be included too.
We decided a full hawthorn tree design would be best, as this emulates the tree of life. I began experimenting with different colour variations and large versus small flowers.
Once we had the form figured out, we played more with colour variations. The client liked the blue, pink and green option the best, but it still needed tweaking.
The client chose the dark grey, blue and pink option. This design was then brought into Adobe Illustrator to turn into the final vector piece.
